ANS Forth Syntax Highlighter for UltraEdit

Description

An ANS Forth syntax highlighter wordfile for use with UltraEdit.

Changelog

Version 1.0 (08-06-14)

- Initial release.
- This file has been tested with UltraEdit for Linux version 4.2.0.5 and UltraEdit for Windows version 21.10.

The syntax highlighting provided by this wordfile has the following limitations:

- Strings are not highlighted ( ." s" c" abort" .( ).
- Single character literals are not highlighted ( char [char] ).
- Any string beginning with [0-9] will be highlighted as a number. Numeric prefix characters [+-.] have been added to provide some support for positive, negative, floating point and double precision numbers.
- The (locals) keyword is highlighted as a comment instead of a keyword.
- Brace matching is only supported for opening words with a single corresponding closing word ( :/; if/then case/endcase of/endof ).
- Defining words do not highlight the words that they define ( : create marker code value variable 2variable fvariable constant 2constant fconstant ).
- Parsing words do not highlight the strings that they parse ( word parse ).
- Words that reference other words do not highlight the referenced word ( [compile] see forget to ).
- Local variables between locals| and | are not highlighted.
